Georgia Fans: What does Kirby need to do this season

For it to be considered a successful season by the fan base?
Conversely, what would be considered a bad season by most fans?
Take UT for example:
IMO, Butch grabs a raise and extension if he gets to 9 or more regular season wins on a schedule that has Florida, Alabama, LSU, & Georgia all on it.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I see him being let go if he goes 7-5 or worse this season.
What are yall's thoughts surrounding this year's season and how it will impact Kirby and recruiting going forward?

1. Win the east
2. Get at least 9 wins
3. Win 3/4 rivalry games
4. Win the bowl game
Our D will be great, our biggest comcerns are the o-line and Cheney.

What would you consider a 9-3 season where you dont win the East but beat Tennessee, GT and Auburn...and win bowl game.
In this scenario UF finished 8-4, 5-3 in the east but has tiebreaker over UGA.

The standard answer is win the East, probably true. But he also needs to look a lot more convincing in the process. Last year we struggled against everybody, and that has to be coaching. Even with a first year quarterback, there's no way our talent was down there with Nicholls State (nearly beat us), ULL (outgained UGA 465 to 400), Vanderbilt and GT. To turn recruiting around, Kirby needs the team to look like an upper tier program, at least some of the time, not some has-been that got lucky and won a down division.

Appreciate the well thought out comments and I agree with you FWIW.

re is usually a huge bump in year 2. That said, I would like to see the boneheaded mistakes cleaned up:
1) UT game- don't have your best pass rusher in coverage on a hail mary situation
2) Vandy game- when you need a yard, don't toss sweep to a 160 pound WR from the Fing I.
3) Georgia Tech- do not go back to the well on a short out route with the ball travelling a long ways nearly parallel to the LOS. Just run the ball and punt or screen and punt. Heck I would even take a deep pass in that situation.
4)Florida- WTF? Just win the damn game.
I think Eason progresses nicely with a year in the system, I think we are greatly improved at WR and the OL at least should know their responsibilities while the Defense should be stout.
Chaney costs us the Sugar bowl last year with his stupid situational play calling. Clean that shitte up.

It wouldn't be a bad season but not a real good one probably a decent one. If that happens smart needs to get a new OC. He's recruiting real well which is promising and has fielded a defense that can compete with any team.

Pretty simple, win the East.
Beat Tech
That should about do it.

We were a couple of plays away from winning 10(instead of 7) regular season games. BUT... We were also a couple of plays away from a 5 win reg. season too...
Looking for major improvement on the offensive side of the ball, great RB's but need the OL(Pittman) and WR's to take it to the next level. Defense should be very solid...
A 10 win reg season is not that much of a reach if CKS is the coach most Dawg fans think he can be...
A 9-3 reg season gets him a pass with me but it'd be a slight disappointment depending on injuries/intangibles...

the way he's recruiting they better give him a few more years. Georgia is a sleeping giant. and it hasn't been that long since LSU and Georgia were playing for the SEC championship almost every year.
