Yeah I've been in the Super Dome more than the Georgia Dome now that I think about it. I left Atlanta after high school and never went back.

I've lived all but 7 years of my life in Ga. & have NEVER been to the Dome.

Go see a HS state championship this December. About $15 and they play like 3-4 games a day so you can watch as much football as you want. Probably the cheapest event you can see in the Dome.

S. Ga. person here, so having the playoffs MANDATORY in the Dome is a sore topic to me.

Just never had any interest to go. Not a NFL fan, so why else would I go there?

The Dome's only problem was that it was built (completed) right as the retractable roof era started. It's in great shape, but the best experience is outdoors.

It's a shame it can't be sold and moved. It's a magnificent stadium and many communities would love to have it. I've watched the Cats play both football and basketball there and I'll be sad to see it go.

Retractable roof era was late 90's - early 2000's. GA dome was built in early 90's.

SkyDome really kicked off things in '89.

Georgia Dome was a traditional dome that opened to being already out of date. If it had been built 5 years later, they would have chosen retractable or open. Looking at the list, probably open.

LINK

I moved to Atlanta in '91. It was weird to me that they were building a dome even then. I think it opened in '92.

I go there at least a couple of times a year and it's in great shape. It's just not the "in" thing.
