They have both made it to a SEC championship since LSU... so there is that.

To be fair LSU probably would have too if we were in the east for the past 5 years

Athens vs. The Swamp.

That should be enough to make a decision.

Good academics at both. I say that the 'talent' at UGA is better, but that is very subjective.

What is he interested in? UGA has excellent forestry program. Of all the SEC campuses Ive been on I do like Georgia the best and that’s not being biased. UGA also has great honors programs, once he is allowed to live in a house, the houses there are really good as far as college houses go. The town is nice as well, Athens really is a great time.

Both are difficult to get into if your boy qualifies..congrats! What does the young man wish to study? Why is he considering these two schools?

Depends on program he is interested in obviously. Girls in Florida wear no clothes year round...kind of awesome. Almost wrecked daily breaking my neck on the bike.

You're going to go broke paying that out of state tuition.

Probably an academic toss up between the two, then, given that he'd have to go pre-PT through undergrad. UGA has an Exercise & Sports Science major, however Florida does have a medical school so maybe they have a more defined Sports Med program? (UGA has a Health Sciences campus but public med school is based in Augusta).

I'm biased as hell but know Gainesville fairly well. Athens and the UGA campus win that head-to-head in a landslide. If you're going to shell out the OOS money, may as well spend it somewhere you wouldn't mind visiting yourself

Yeah. The UF med school really helps their academic standing a ton (in the sense that UGA is lacking, and in that his son is directly looking at that pt field ).

I have had lots of friends (valedictorians even) take the free tuition at UGA for premed and them move on to bigger and better things as they pursue their m.d.

But UF has the edge with the med school.

I'm not positive, but I'd be very surprised if this wasn't offered at the Medical Partnership Campus (old Navy School). That was sorta the point in creating that whole thing, or so I thought.

On my phone, so can't see your location. If youre in GA, might be worth the in-state tuition to consider the Exercise & Sport Science track, then maybe go Emory, Georgia State, or UNG. All would be good choices.

If he's seeking an all-in-one, UF might be a better choice. I know their med school is good, but not sure how the program works.

Just fyi: LINK
