Article about how they want more good OOC games but Ohio State won't be on the list of potentials because:

quote:

Once Urban came in that was off the table

I'm well aware of the UGA/UF rivalry, but is there more bad blood than that?

Urban is a douche and everyone knows that.

"He spent time with his family". While they were in Gainesville and he was in Bristol every week.

I'm just surprised a head coach would make it impossible for 2 of the better football programs to be able to meet

That series was cancelled pre Playoffs
The B1G/Pac 12 had just agreed to a series pre playoffs, which got cancelled when the Playoff became a reality, so it was the B1G that potentially forced OSU out of the game LINK
That series was cancelled BEFORE Meyer got rolling at OSU

Where does the article say it was our head coach's decision? It could have been Meyer's decision. Or maybe he and McGarity don't see eye to eye.

I was more saying why does Meyer being a prick stop the 2 schools from playing on the football field.

Maybe because Georgia already plays a tough schedule and could afford a loss and still make it to the playoffs. Why add another tough game if it isn't needed.
Ohio State plays in a usually weak conference and needs to add a tough non-conference game to boost their SOS if they do lose to a crappy team.
Just your everyday story of crappy conference teams trying to bring down the best.

Right but the wording in your OP, if someone just read that and not click the link, makes it look like Urban got to OSU and our AD wet himself and immediately canceled the series. That's not the case since, as you already mentioned, it was canceled a while back (guess the article missed that part) and it was canceled by OSU, not us.

And OSU didn't back out on a contract at all, because no contract was ever signed. It was an agreement they would try to schedule games, but OSU couldn't confirm dates by 2012 so the series got cancelled.

quote:

The schools didn't have a contract for the 2020-21 games, but rather an agreement to try to schedule games for those years. The agreement would be null and void if dates to play were not reached by June 30, 2012. Ohio State sent Georgia a letter this month informing the Bulldogs it would not be able to confirm dates, effectively nullifying the agreement.

Urbie owned Georgia at Florida. Probably the real reason they don't want to play again

WTF, you're an idiot. Looks like Ohio State didn't want to play Georgia. Not the other way around.

The issue is that UGA seems to be wetting the bed now and not wanting to play OSU. It seems there was no contract in place before and it was more an agreement to try to schedule (I was pumped up when it was announces as I assume UGA fans were).

I want OSU to play powers, and want UGA on the schedule. I was surprised an AD would go off and say Urban is the reason. That's really all

How in the blue hell does it seem that way? Thsi thread hasn't gone on very long, how could you already have forgotten these 2 points?

-the matchup was over with well before right now
-it was canceled BY OSU, NOT US.

In no way does it seem like what I quoted above, other than your OP.
