George Will thinks baseball is the greatest game ever and has little regard for football. I'd take his article with a grain of salt.

George Will is a smug effete eltist. He doesn't like football to begin with. It's not his tea and fingercakes kind of crowd. His opinion of football is like a native New Yorker's opinion of Alabama. Of course he looks down on it and predicts its doom. What else would you expect?

Every time I read one of these it sounds more like hope than a prediction

"Not even football fans, a tribe not known for savoring nuance..." -George Will

Clearly he has never had a discussion about pros and cons of a 3-4 Hybrid defense or which recruit QB has better footwork.

This might be black helicopter stuff but I wouldn't be surprised if his bias incorporates some anti-southernism.

He mad. All the NFL talent comes from The South and it is the most lucrative pro sport in America.

Probably just trying to get someone to read his column. Low hanging fruit. He pretty much copied every story I read right after Seau's death.

Will is very conservative in his views... a lot of times the 'anti-southern' mindset comes from more the liberal-minded.

I think his opinions come from (as someone stated earlier) his dislike for football (and love of baseball) and easy-to-right column, based on the events of the last few months.

He clearly dislikes the game and makes some sh*tty remarks about the fans. His bias undercuts his arguments, but even so I think he makes some good points.

Football is a dangerous sport and the issues need to be addressed proactively by the NFL (and college football). I agree that if those issues are not addressed the popularity of the sport will eventually decline.

It's almost as if he's just trying to prove baseball is better than football. Any time sports is brought up on ABC's Sunday morning show This Week that he sits on on, he just dogs football and always talks about how great and noble baseball is.

He also seems to have a permanent stick up his arse.

My bet is its not permanent. He probably takes it in and out at a rapid rate.
