Just heard on sports radio that 6 Gators got caught up in something and that there could be some guys kicked off the team. Do you mind sharing with the SECrant who these players are and how the situation will likely go?

New Hearing more here in Gainesville. No idea how accurate this info is, but it sounds plausible.
Word now is that the players were using a financial aid or school issued card and then reporting it stolen so that it would get replaced. Essentially, they could double the money.
Supposedly one player did it and told others and then they started doing it as well. A single incident didn't throw up any red flags, but when the number of people claiming lost or stolen cards starting growing the admin started looking into it. Apparently one player admitted to it and gave the name of the guy that came up with the scam.
Supposedly one player (not a starter) has already been dismissed from the team. I am guessing that would be the ring leader. The other players are going to have to make restitution to remain eligible. Punishment will be handled in house. No charges filed with authorities.
It's also being said that one player was forced to leave his shared apartment by another players parents who have the lease to the apartment.
Looks like this whole thing has huge potential to be divisive in the locker room and be a huge distraction.
BTW, the starters involved are supposedly Callaway and OL Taylor. Once again, this is just what I heard.
(Copied this from another message board, by the way)
Jordan Smith will be gone. Not sure about Callaway because of the previous issues. Jawaan Taylor should be fine. Boosters will pay restitutions and this will be swept under the rug. Not as bad as appeared.

Geez that's a mess. I'd be surprised if Callaway stays due to his history.

Twitter rumors swirling that Zaire and Callaway are involved

Kentucky might just beat them this year.

Callaway and Taylor would be insane loses to our team. Not having those two will amount in at least 1 more loss than we would have with them on it. Minimal.

They stole that trick from UGA's 2012 recruiting class.

Has the Gator AD checked out the HC's phone records?...just asking, never know what...who...mite pop up.

UGA had a few players in 2014 do the same thing (including 2 that would end up eventually playing for auburn and bama..), they'd do the mobile deposit on teh phone then cash it at a corner store as well. None of the players were suspended for it though, and considering how ridiculously rigid UGA's student handbook policy is I would be flabbergasted if UF's guys are.

I hope so, that guy has killed us. He's really the only person on UF's team this year that genuinely concerns me.

I'd worry about our entire Dline vs that Oline. Far more than Callaway.

To be fair, there's a lot of rumors swirling around and I hadn't heard what Ricky posted (don't think it's THAT serious or there'd be more buzz) . None of the players have been confirmed. So as of right now I just think we'll have to wait a day or two until the true story comes out before I speculate.

Come on man this is the rant, extreme speculation is what we live for. It's the fuel that runs this site.
