Well deserved, great coach year in year and year out.

Just if you win the division don't lose to Indiana. It makes us all look bad.

Chase Daniels was my neighbor and always spoke highly of him, good enough for me.

You're not real good at spelling or pronouncing the names of your neighbors.

Daniel sorry on phone, it auto corrected

(And by always I mean the half a dozen times I gathered the balls to talk to him the year I lived next to him in New Orleans. Always wanted to talk more with him but was afraid of coming off as a stalker/fanboy)

He's been doing more with less for a long time. Well deserved IMO.

He has more when people think he should have less. That's why he wins. He routinely makes the recruiting services look silly with scouting and development.

What blows my mind is his dline play. Dline is usually 99% recruiting. A talented Dlineman is easy to spot in junior high because of a freak combo of talents and size and so the best players are highly recruited and hard to get.

Pinkel is the 1%.

It's an ongoing joke with Mizzou fans. The media could never get his name right. Never.

I bet. I am usually right with my predictions on the Rant, except when it comes to Pinkel. I have learned to not doubt him.

It is downright amazing what this cat has accomplished with the talent level he recruited, his assemble staff is outstanding at developing talent.

I'd say it's more like 50% recruiting and 50% development.

Mizzou has STL and KC to recruit out of and there are plenty of good "potential" athletes in those metros, guys like Kony Ealy come from rural Mo are much more the exception.

Shane Ray, Marcus Golden, Aldon Smith, Sheldon Richardson, all guys from the state metros that other teams recruited and Mizzou landed and coached up. It's no surprise the Mizzou fans started to freak at rumors of the D-line coach, Kuligowski, taking another job.

Pinkel is no genius at recruiting, he simply grabs the kids he can get and does as much as he can with them. Keeping Kuligowski and strength coach Ivey around is sound strategy, but hardly a stroke of genius.

Not saying he's a genius, he's not, but Missouri doesn't simply grab the kids they can get.

That happens sometimes (e.g., Charles Harris), but they also look for certain characteristics in players that aren't always obvious in 40 times and recruiting rankings.

None of this is to downplay the player development Missouri does. IMO Pat Ivey runs the best S&C staff in the country. Hard to argue with Kul's results either.

Jagd hates Pinkel and would never give him credit for anything. Wasting your keystrokes.

Takes who he can get, huh. Well no shite
