They even hung a banner in their stadium to celebrate and remember their 2003 SECW championship!

Also received the same trophy LSU did for winning the west that season.

So how do they decide who gets weekends and holidays and who he's the work week?

This thread was great when the UT and Black Bear fans were going back and forth jabbing each other.

Best defensive coach in the country and arguably the best overall coach in the country period. What he's accomplished at TCU is nothing short of remarkable.

And if Bama gets him after Saban retires and LSU keeps Miles I may just stop watching football.

Oh, GO TO HELL OLE MISS!!!!

Meh. Divisional titles don't matter

They do to your athletic department. In fact, they matter so much that your school actually has a co-divisional champion banner hanging in your stadium.

Nice try, Mississippi. Also, I guess this is the place to leave this: 10-7

I don't think you have anything to worry about. There have been plenty of big jobs open over the last five years (USC, Texas, Florida, Michigan, etc...) and Patterson was never mentioned as a candidate for any of them. Makes me think he's very happy at TCU and will retire there.

We tried very hard to get him at Arkansas. One of my friends is a huge TCU booster. He said that at one point, they were sure they had lost him. It's not that we are the most prestigious job, but our job opening just hit him at the perfect time when he was willing to listen

In the end, he decided to stay put, and the TCU folks aren't too nervous about losing him. I guess he has one big flirt, then realized that TCU is home for him

While this seems like some smart insight, it probably could be applied to many teams that run TE power sets. Having a predictable offensive is obviously not good especially if your personnel and execution are inferior. In such a lopsided loss, I would guess that problem was pretty much all of the above.

True story. The survivors of the plane crash in 77 were spread among several hospitals. I provided care to 3 or 4 of the survivors back in the day. A few years later, I was in a hunting club pretty close to the crash site.

Not sure what you are trying to say. Peyton is twice the QB that Eli is, and that's a fact.

That said, Ole Miss thumped Tennessee 34-3 so it's weird that Tennessee fans are here making fun of Ole Miss.

Why?

Not only have you guys not seen a national championship in your lifetime, even your dad's haven't seen one. There is absolutely no comparison between the two programs. Tenn is head and shoulders above Ole Miss and the facts back that up. As one poster pointed out, Tenn has been in a very down period, and yet, they only have 2 more losses than you guys over the last five years. Think about that. In addition, you had ONE very good recruiting class, and those guys will be gone after this year. Meanwhile, Tenn is stockpiling top talent over multiple classes, and they have a good coach. Tenn could rise up again and win a title. Ole Miss or State are never going to do that....they just aren't. Your best years in a long, long time, resulted in 3 and 4 losses respectively.

TCU could call whatever they wanted that game. They were the better coached team and the better team period.

Tenneesse and Ole Miss arguing about who is better is like Larry and Shemp arguing over who was the better stooge.

The media is stupid... until freeze gives up the offense, ole miss will not reach it's full potential

I don't nesecerally disagree with this statement but, who should he hand the offense over to? Our quarterback coach isn't who I would want to run our offense, our o line coach 80% of our fans hate, and I think freeze is to nice/loyal to fire one of them and hire someone else. Freeze is our best shot at a decent offense.

I'm not saying your wrong but two of those years was some of the worse football I've ever seen from any football team. 6 wins in two years..... Houston Nutt destroyed this program and freeze had to pick up the pieces.
