"Since 2011, LSU in the SEC is 19-12. And that's not good enough at LSU," Danielson said. "That might be good enough at Purdue, but at LSU that's not good enough. That's the job. When you take that job at LSU, Alabama, Florida, USC, Ohio State and Notre Dame you are measured differently than everybody else, and Les realizes that.

When I was the starting quarterback for the Lions and we lost three games in a row and put the tape on with the coach I said 'It ain't me, I've got six touchdown passes, one interception, I'm throwing it 60 percent' and coach says 'yeah but we've got three L's and I can't switch 21 other guys.

so, why did coach think GD was the problem if those stats are correct? Doesnt seem like QB play was the issue..

He doesn't get that part.

TAF would pay the buyout.

But he nailed it with the statement I quoted.

Gary doesn't get it if he puts LSU in that group.

That's basically the story here.

Nice subtle brag there, Gary. Other than 3 losses in a row, how the frick does that have to do with anything going on here?

And who the frick is he? Does he work in the Athletic Department?
1. They buyout (if it happens) is to be paid out in accordance with the contract, over a certain time period.
2. LSU was never in 'fiscal danger' or the hyped word that Alexander used to the State Legislature.
The State secured funds for the 11% of LSU's total budget that it contributes to the University and there was no danger of cuts.

I wish the narrative of "not living up to fan expectations" would stop being used as a rationale to fire Les.

People, in general, are dumb AF.

Fandom only makes it worse due to the infusion of unreasonably biased viewpoints.

He fricked up the financial's of the situation, which is OK because he is a college football analyst.

But he is one of the few media members that understands the situation.

I completely agree, but I wouldn't fire Les without a replacement lined up. I just don't think this is a great year to be hiring.

Actually, since 2000, LSU is ahead of every one of those schools in victories except Ohio State, and even with Ohio State, USC and Florida, in NCs.
So you are wrong........

All-time, LSU is #11 in wins and #8 in bowl appearances, ahead of Florida and right behind USC ..

Its idiotic to compare the LSU program from before 2000 to now.

Its apples to oranges at this point.

Its not remotely close.
