Games that are usually close that shouldn't be?

What do you think it is? Atmosphere? Hatred? For example, Auburn is probably going to fight Bama to the death this year despite it being a dumpster fire.
It's always been a curious subject to me.

LSU/Arkansas is like that as well. No matter how terrible their season was you could always count on it being a close game.

Games are won in during the week in preparation. I'll take LSU for instance, the students fans, media tell the LSU players they HAVE to win the Bama game and there is extra focus there and effort there. Same with Auburn. Coaches and players wont admit it but some games are just bigger than others and that weeks preparation is just better and more intense for one team moreso than the other. It is a curious question.

Totally spaced on that one.
2013 should NOT have been close.

I mentioned this in another thread on the Alabama Board. I remember Vandy games on the old Jefferson-Pilot games where we would be playing a terrible Vandy team and it would be something like 17-13 in the 4th quarter. I'd sit there think, "How the hell is this close?!!!"
The beauty of college football, though.

Lately UGA/Tennessee.
They're 4-10 vs. Richt but the vast majority have been close. Even the recent years when UT has blown.

Because games don't start off 21-0 in favor of the favorite.
