Stay where you are, listen to Emergency Management Folks, enjoy the downtime whether you have AC or not. Been seeing word that your campus and the Stadium is dealing with serious flooding issues.

Make it to Saturday in one piece y'all!

Stadium is in the latest and lowest part of town so I don't doubt there is some serious flooding.

Campus has some flood prone areas but this shite is so ridiculous I'm can't imagine what it looks like.

Thanks for the info, GFunk. I knew it was bad up there, but didn't fully appreciate the scope.

Stay safe, Cocks.

Several UGA fans over here too.

But in all seriousness, I lived in Paulding County, GA during the 2009 event, now I'm in Lexington, SC for this one. The chances of seeing two floods like this in my lifetime had to be almost nothing.

I'm up in Blythewood area boxed in by roads and bridges that have sinkholes or the bridges washed out.

Will be interesting to see how fast we can get them inspected and fixed.

You'll be surprised how quickly emergency management officials deal with and return infrastructure to active use. After 9/11, FEMA officials worth their salt went local/state rather than be overseen by a bunch of folks who didn't know what they were doing when Bush II created the Department of Homeland Security and folded FEMA into it.

Set up the Feds for a lot of egg on their face during Katrina really, but before I digress, post Katrina, nationally emergency management quality really improved. Lots of folks earned their stripes in our disaster. Katrina was Emergency Management's Apollo 13 in a sense.

Anyway, just keep your cool and deal with the frustration over the coming days, weeks and yes...months.

Help those less fortunate. And if you have family in the upstate, go.

All due respect, but if you have four walls, food and water, and you haven't been directed otherwise by local leadership...

STAY. WHERE. YOU. ARE.
