Galveston County has had some hit in the past but nothing like the publicity it is getting this year. Its a relatively small county with some good schools, La Marque, Texas City, Dickinson, etc.

This year we have 2 studs representing our county.

Michael Sam - Mizzou from Hitchcock High School (my high school)

Mike Evans - A&M from Galveston Ball High

This county is mostly known for its basketball players but glad to see it making a splash in football especially in the SEC.

Their beach is disgusting. An embarrassing blight on an otherwise gorgeous gulf coast

I couldnt agree more. It baffles me all the "tourist" that come to the island for the beach... Its like chocolate milk covered in sea weed.

It's more than a beach. People go because it's a good beach town. Lots do on the Island besides get in the water.

Well of course. The Pleasure Pier has become a huge attractions. Biker Rally this weekend is huge. etc.

He made a comment about the beach which is the WOAT (save maybe Crystal Beach across the ferry)

I would have never imagined that someone would have mentioned my hometown, Dickinson, TX, on the rant. Bookmark this shite.

Other Galveston County aggies playing on our awesome defense:

Clay Honeycutt S - Dickinson
Donnie Baggs LB - League City (Clear Springs HS)
Howard Mathews S - League City (Clear Springs HS)

Trivia question. What heisman trophy winner hails from Dickinson?

Good. Let those dumbasses stay on East beach or in front of the San Luis. They are definitly dumps.

We (and I'm sure you) just drive 20 miles west to Seaside, Pirates, San Luis pass, etc...

Or jump on the ferry to Crystal Beach and high island. Is the water clear...no!! But the beaches are clean, uncrowded, and the fishing is very good.

Miles and miles of empty (brand-new) condos with nice beachfront property just sitting empty and unused. So we make sure to use them.

It's gotten much better in the last few years. Galveston is not a destination by any stretch, but they're doing a lot of work to clean up the place.
