That's par for the course in his field.
If I were looking for an opinion on where to drill for oil, he might be able to lend a credible opinion.
If I'm looking for someone to lend an opinion regarding the financial health of a business, I think I'll stick with the opinion of guys like this who seem to think things are just fine.

I am surprised it's only a billion. UA's campus is palatial now. Except for the parking decks, which are still too small.

Never mind that UA has a $1.2 bn in available liquidity

Idk, they haven't built out the Bryce land yet. There is a $60m performing arts center about to go up over there.

I had Knox as a teacher my Sophomore year. Nice guy and a good professor. His main teaching focus (not sure on the nature of his research) is on Weather and Climate. He's a big writer, penning op-ed's on anything and everything (mathematical criticisms of the RPI in college b-ball was one strange piece of his I remember in the student newspaper). Nice as hell guy though. He invited every student in a 300 person class to his house at the end of the semester.
I don't really have anything to add to the conversation on UAB, just figured I'd mention.

So you were basically just name dropping?
Posted on 5/21/15 at 5:17 pm to MrAUTigers
Yes I clearly was name-dropping the world-famous John Knox for the prestige. You should see me at bars. You wouldn't believe how many chicks go home with a guy after you mention having taken a class with a Geography professor.

The perfect solution: Shut down UAB and UAH at the undergraduate level and herd those students to Tuscaloosa.

You should demand a refund and un-learn anything he told you.

Alabama residents won't vote for a lottery either. Would fix all financial problems for the state.
