Still waiting on the first rendering. I hope it turns out like this... without Tebow.

Here's a fun SEC fact.

The following teams are not in the SEC, yet their fans just can't stop obsessively posting on the rant.

Ohio State
Nebraska
Oregon
Georgia Tech
Florida State
texas
TCU
Baylor

Saban hasn't won a National Championship since Jim McElwain or Doug Nussmeyer were on his staff.

Both of them are now on Florida's coaching staff

I still like charter SEC member Sewanee's feat.

With just 13 players, Sewanee defeated Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Tulane and Ole Miss all on the road, in six days, by a combined score of 91-0.

The Tigers went 12-0 and only one team scored on them all season. They beat John Heisman's Auburn squad 11-10.

Most fans phrase that as "We've beaten as many top 10 teams as we've lost to" - and they brag about it.
Phrase it how you want but it still means Bama isn't that great when they play the top teams.

So you're saying that a team doesn't far as well against top 10 competition as they do against average/mediocre competition?

Uhh...couldn't you say that about pretty much every team in the country?

Ole Miss players make more money in the NFL than those from any other school. Robert Nkemdiche is the best dlineman in the SEC.

Compared to who? Please list all the teams who are 11-4 against teams ranked in the top 10 at the time of the game, and who finished with a .500 or better record against teams who finished the season ranked in the top 10 - minimum 10 games.

Go ahead. I'll wait.

Nevermind, I'll do it for you... Here are the records for several of the nation's "top teams" against teams who were ranked at the time the game was played/finished year top 10 during that time period (2008-present):

Alabama (11-4)/(6-6)
Auburn (8-14)/(6-13)
LSU (8-13)/(7-13)
Ohio State (5-5)/(6-8)
Oregon (9-6)/(6-9)
Oklahoma (8-8)/(3-8)
Florida (10-9)/(8-12)

So, it looks like Alabama's play against top 10 teams is pretty elite.

lsu baseball lost to Alabama 28-2 in 1997 before winning the national championship just a few weeks later. it is the worst loss in the program's history

That's crazy. How does that even happen in college baseball? Is there a back story behind that?

Bama's best player, all American pitcher/outfielder Roberto Vaz, broke his foot in the regionals. He didn't play at all in Omaha, and LSU beat Bama 13-6 in the NC game. The 28-2 game was part of the teams' last SEC series of the year at Bama after LSU had clinched the regular season SEC title. Bama took 2 of 3; the teams finished the season having split six games.

Lost by 7 to National Champ LSU

LSU's 41-34 win over Alabama in 2007 was the last of five straight LSU wins over the Tide, LSU's longest streak ever in the series. It was also the first time LSU has ever scored 40 points against Bama. Bama has scored 40 or more three times, the last in 1947.

If they aren't top 10 at the end of the year they aren't top 10 teams. Otherwise you might as well call every team that was #1 at any time during the year the best team.

Bama is 8-9 against top 10 teams since 2008.

2008
L #1 Florida
L #2 Utah
W #10 UGA

2009
W #2 Texas
W #3 Florida
W #10 VT

2010
L #1 Auburn
L #8 LSU

2011
L #2 LSU
W #2 LSU
W #5 Arkansas

2012
W #2 Notre Dame
W #5 Georgia
L #5 Texas A&M

2013
L #2 Auburn
L #6 Oklahoma

2014
L #1 Ohio State

LSU's current defensive coordinator gave up 70 points with a month to prepare.
