he finished with a losing record to Bert. average margain of defeat: 17 points

If that was the case he would have been fired last year.
Or did you guys fire him weeks early to avoid another 17-point beatdown?

Bert played a part in making LSU quit miles

I care. But I don't consider it an insult even if it was intended as a troll. Bret is an underrated coach, and his style is quite similar to Saban's, which means he had some of the same advantages when playing Miles. No actual shame in losing to him.

So losing by 17 to Arkansas is expected but losing to Auburn on an overturned last second TD was the final straw. Got it

You are a very smart poster, for all the different schools. Of course, you already knew this, but thank you for your contribution to the board

He had a pretty good record, all things considered.

That game was part of the 3 game stretch that almost got a coach that started 8-0 fired.
I'd say that game has just as much to do with his firing as auburn did last week.
Miles wasn't fired just for starting 2-2 in 2016. He was fired because we now have to beat Mizzou to be .500 in our last 10 games

We used to not have talent either but now we're getting a few 4 star players and even a 5 star. Hopefully your new coach tries that.

I can't remember anymore. Are we crazy for firing a 10 win a year coach? Or are we crazy for not firing a coach who can't beat Arkansas?
Man yaw got me confused.
Lester was not a great coach. We've moved on finally. I'm sure a lot of power 5 schools are waiting till the end of the year to give him a call.

He absolutely was a great coach.
-He was fired for losing 5 of his last 9 games, 3 in embarrassing fashion.
-1 of which was to Arkansas, who OP was bragging about beating LSU by a wide margin.
-Hence why I said kind of why he's "finished" at LSU
I'm sure there are a lot of power 5 programs that would be happy with our record the last 3.3 seasons (29-13). None of those programs will pull in top classes annually and have future pro bowlers scattered throughout their lineups though, along with giving miles blank checks to hire the highest paid staff in college football regularly. So even that record will not translate over.
He could find a job if he wanted to though

Well laddy fricking da. He didn't exactly lose his job from beating shite schools that he should have been beating. #1 reason he's gone. Glad you see the light.

Miles did the best he could with what he had to work with. He was kind of behind the 8-ball though.
