Elite programs thinking they can just show up and win against solid teams that play in non Power 5 conferences. shite doesn't work that way

Eh. FSU got beat by a 3 win Tech team. IIRC Bama didn't have that kind of blemish on its resume when it played Utah

Nah.

Bama/Utah reestablished that the best non-5 team can beat an overrated Power 5 Team after Hawaii got skullfricked by UGA the year before.

Houston beating FSU is to be expected.

No, just no.

Aside from it being just Saban's second season, that Utah team went undefeated and in addition to beating Alabama, won @ Michigan, beat a TCU team that finished 11-2 and ranked #7, and routed a BYU team that finished ranked in the top 25.

Houston's best regular season wins were against Temple, Memphis, and Navy. They also lost to UConn.

The 2008 Sugar Bowl was the case of one very good football team putting it to another pretty good team.

The 2015 Peach Bowl was just a couple of slightly better than mediocre teams seeing which one was better.

Bama was not overrated. In 2008 Bama was the second best team in the country. Their offense would have been a more difficult matchup for OU than UF's was because of their power running whereas UF had the run game dependent on Tebow for power and moving the chains.

UF's defense matched up with OU better than Bama's.

But Bama was legit #2 that year, except for the fact that after the SECCG they just mailed it in.

Agree

Utah was legit that year
They could've played with anyone that season

The days of just showing up against these smaller programs is over. Doing that will likely get you smacked in the mouth. BCS conferences better bring their A or B game because there's to much parity these days.
