I think they have a shot because they are one of the most athletic teams in the country. FSU has a very good team coming back that should be favored to win the ACC.
However, Alabama always seems prepared to play in these opening kickoff games regardless of the opponent. Even with 2 freshmen QBs, they made USC look like the worst USC team I can remember, and that team went on to finish top 5 in the country. Also, I'm sure FSU will be improved on defense but they've had some truly awful stretches of games on that side of the ball the last few years.
Not sure that any of that will factor into this game and I just hope that it's entertaining.

USC didn't do themselves any favors by starting Max Browne over Sam Darnold that day

I think that we will boat race FSU.

anything is possible but I don't think so...but look at for the rest of Bama schedule with Fresno State, Colorado State and Mercer.
BYU, Chattanooga, Syracuse, Troy
Florida State, Fresno State, Colorado State, Mercer
You really talking shite about Alabamas non conference slate when theyre playing a preseason top 3 team?

You must be new to the board. You need to learn rule #1 - Only Bama can beat Bama. Just ask Bama fans.

I honestly think FSU will win by 3-7 points. Jalen Hurts struggled to throw with effectiveness at the end of the year, they're switching up the offense to more of a pro set, they lost A TON on defense.
Francois is one hell of a QB. That kid is gonna be special. The first game last season he made me think of Jameis Winston throwing for like 400+ and running for like 40. They are one of the most talented teams in the country, and although Bama has more talent, FSU is much more experienced.

They lose a ton on defense every year. In 2011 they lost 3 first rounders, a 2nd rounder, and 3 5th rounders off the defense. 8/11 defenders went in the first 150 picks. Remember what happened in 2012?
I'm not saying FSU can't win, because they're talented enough to beat anyone..but to think Alabama doesn't just reload on defense at this point is a naive. Saban does a great job of getting young guys meaningful snaps so they're ready to roll when it's their turn to start.

I agree. FSU should be the best team in the country next year.

Their QB is of the type that gives Bama fits. I pick them to win by a little.

He had 196 rushing yards while averaging 1.81 YPC so I wouldn't consider him a dual threat QB.

Jalen Hurts was at least as good of a QB last year.

That holds true for the Vols, but not for FSU...they're a good football team.

I'd give FSU about a 40% chance of pulling it off.
In other words, this is the highest probability against Bama in nearly a decade.

Absolutely they do. Two good teams. Anyone who believes that fsu doesn't have a shot to win is ignorant, plain and simple.
