Which freshmen will start for your school either do to talent, maturity or just good ole fashioned need? What is the expectation?
ALABAMA
- Jonah Williams, OL, 5-star : will have a shot to play at RT because of skill level. Will depend on fall camp
- BJ Emmons, RB, 5-star : will be in RB mix. Very talented, but in most years would probably not be a large part of offense as a true freshman. Due to RB depth he will have a shot this year.
- Ben Davis, LB, 5-star : Saban usually picks 1 LB a year to play important minutes (Hightower, Mosley, Dion-Hamilton). My guess is Davis is that guy this year.
- Nigel Knott, DB, 4-star : will be in Nickel/Dime mix due to departure of a number of veterans and graduation.
- Shy Carter, DB, 4-star : see Nigel Knott
- Joshua Jacobs, RB, 3-star : possibly could be in RB mix, though probably not, but definitely will have chance to return kicks along with a few other freshmen.
Others who could contribute : Quinnen Williams (DL), Trevon Diggs (WR), Irvin Smith (TE)
There is a very small chance Jalen Hurts plays at QB, but that goes under the I will believe it when I see it category.

LSU may not have any as regular starters, which is nice to be honest.

Every freshman linebacker for A&M should see significant playtime.

Tennessee:
WR Brandon Johnson: 3 star who has really impressed this summer, surprisingly.
S Nigel Warrior: 4 star who is stepping in to a position with a lot of talented bodies but not a lot of proven talent.
NB Marquill Osborne: 4 star early enrollee. Will be in rotation, could see him starting by mid season.

Two for sure at Arkansas.
McTelvin Agim - DE - 5 star. The kid looked like a beast in spring practice and was absolutely mauling the OL. I would expect him to be a starter by the end of the season.
Devwah Whaley - RB - 4 star. We're hurting for RB depth and Bielema says he's the best back on film that he's ever signed. It's pretty easy to connect the dots.

LSU
- Kristian Fulton CB 5 Star - I'm not sure how much he will play, but this kid is an absolute stud on a team that is stacked at CB.
- Rashard Lawrence DT/DE 5 star - Another strong position at LSU but he will be in the rotation this year.
- Devin White LB 4 star - He will see action due to depth and ability. His size and speed combo is hard to beat at 250 lb and 4.4 speed.
- Saivion Smith DB 4/5 star - I see him more on special teams early on but he has been playing really well so far. Depth will hurt him more than anything but he has the talent to make a push.
- Drake Davis WR 4 star - I have a feeling this kid will see a lot of playing time. He is beating everyone he lines up against. Malachi Dupre and Travin Dural will be the starters, but Davis will be in the rotation with DJ Chark and Tyron Johnson for that 3rd spot.
There are a couple others, but these are my favorites for big time contribution.

Good stuff guys - nice to know who to look for early in the year at other schools.

LSU:
Devin White - Will play in every game per Les at linebacker. 260 lbs and ran a 4.49 laser timed 40. Former running back.
Savion Smith - Apparently killing it at CB and Tre White will move to nickel in certain formations and Smith will come in at CB we think
Some DL will gets some snaps i.e. Alexander/Lawrence.
Drake Davis at WR could see some action too.

I think you mean Devin White here.

RB - Brian Herrian and/or Elijah Holyfield - One of these two will get some carries given the injuries to Michel/Chubb
QB - Jacob Eason - Too talented to not play, may start from game 1
OL - Ben Cleveland - big strong freshman should work his way into rotation later in the year
DT - Julian Rochester - Suspensions and dismissals mean this 4* he will play early
DB/WR/KR/PR - Mercole Hardman - 5* players will get on the field one way or the other. Too dangerous not too.
WR - Riley Ridley - We need playmakers, he looks like one

Devwah Whaley at rb and McTelvin Agim at de & dt for Arkansas.
Whaley could finish top 5 in SEC rushing yards if Rawleigh Williams is tentative after neck injury against Auburn last year.

Sci Martin in pass rushing situations. Will eat tackles alive.

I know what you mean. On the one hand you like to see freshmen, because it typically means they are very talented. On the other hand it can mean a lack of depth and some silly mistakes. Two edged sword, I guess.

Brandon McIlwain - QB 4 Star (Expected started, competition with Orth, Nunez, darkhorse Bentley)
Bryan Edwards - WR 4 star (I think it's safe to stay we're all pretty excited to see what he does this year)
I'll add more later. Those are the big 2 for us I would say.

Really hoped we could snatch that guy at the end of recruiting season. Going to be a great quick twitch specialist.

Maybe Tyler Byrd too at WR. Butch likes to rotate WRs a lot, maybe too much.

Is there really a chance he plays this year? Has a should be rising senior in high school who is 17-18 years old ever started in CFB led alone a P5 league?
That'd be crazy.

Start
RSFR - Drew Richmond (5 Star) - LT or RT
2 Deep
One or two of these three will be heavy in our WR rotation.
FR - Marquez Calloway - 4* WR
FR - Tyler Byrd - 4* WR
FR - Brandon Johnson 3* WR
CB - Marquill Osborne 4* - NB or CB
S - Nigel Warrior - 4* S
Crazy to have such a short list this year.
In years past this would be double digits easy with multiple true freshman starting.
