The dumpster fire in Oxford has gotten so bright if you look north on a clear night you can see the glow. Ole Miss doubled down in backing Freeze and taking on the NCAA, putting all their chips on a bet that Freeze was clean. Worst bet ever. His credibility is shot.

The irony is that many people could care less about who a coach is seeing on the side. What gets most people is when the guy caught cheating is someone who pretends to be holier than the rest of us schmucks.

The Ole Miss administration should be taking more heat for this. They are complicit in a strategy to deflect the blame to Nutt, like Billy the Kid blaming Jesse James for a bank robbery.

Regardless of the escort reveal, Freeze was damaged goods. They are another year behind in their rebuild. Had they fired Freeze at the end of the season they would have a new coach in place and a new story to tell recruits.
