He said he was frustrated and didn't understand how a game between the top 2 teams in a "Power 5" basketball conference didn't feature at least 1 ranked team.

Please note, he wasn't complaining about USC's lack of ranking. He was talking about the league as a whole.

Agree, disagree?

In my unbiased opinion, I think the league is pretty bad this year and the rankings reflect that. The middle of the conference is indistinguishable. LSU still had 8 losses going into the game last night and we only have a few quality wins. We should probably be ranked but LSU at 8 losses had no business being ranked going into our game last night.

100 years of horrible basketball (minus UK) leaves a stain. However, you guys should be ranked. A freaking mid-major with SCU's record would prob be ranked.

LSU and South Carolina each had ONE win vs. a top 50 RPI team all season...

no, you had no business being ranked either.

Unfortunately I think we still have 2-3 losses ahead.

vs. Kentucky
@ Mississippi State (calling the upset)
@ Arkansas (tough place to play)

No one can accuse me of being a homer. But with that being said, we should finish around 25-6.

South Carolina had/has way more reason to be ranked than LSU.

Every year the SEC is a little underrated. There a plenty of quality OOC wins out there amongst the conference.

This^^^ although it's not true. Our record vs top 50 rpi teams as it stands right now is 3-1. Only team in the conference with a better record vs top RPI teams is UK with 4-1.

Better ruck next time.

The SEC ranks 4th out of the P5 conferences in basketball imo. I considered it a downgrade when Mizzou joined the SEC in terms of college basketball. I honestly considered Arkansas, Kentucky, and Florida the only real threats but you know, we hired Kim Anderson, the worst head coach in D-1 ball.

It's true, but it's also true that there are some horrific losses and inconsistent play that has seemed to haunt the league for some time.

You always have a collection of teams that can play right there with anybody but won't do so on a consistent basis. The exceptions being Florida and Kentucky.

Hopefully the recent coaching turnover in the mid to lower tier bball schools will yield positive results. It's the reason the Big-12 is all of a sudden hell on wheels.

The SEC put on a good show last night I thought. We need more nights like that. The second half of the LSU-USC game was flowing really nice offensively as good as any Big-12 matchup.

Aside from the league being overall down this year, the SEC is just BAD. The refs are god awful. Absolutely terrible. The style of play, outside kentucky, is so ugly.

But for this year in particular, you have both Arkansas and Mizzou WAY down from our standards, and we should be in the Top 5 of the conference every season. Kentucky is down by their freshman standards. All of that is a recipe to not get respect.

SEC basketball needs to learn some damn finesse. Right now it is football players trying to play basketball.

I'd agree with this. The SEC isn't getting recognition because the SEC as a whole isn't very good this year. Only have 3 teams in the entire conference with winning records vs top 50 teams and we have 4 teams that together have won only 2 games vs those same top 50 teams.

if it is a downgrade, then why does Missouri suck so badly in the SEC in basketball?
