The media exposure and love given to both McCaffrey and Watson this year due to their bowl performances will be hard to overcome for LF. Especially since both those guys play about one defense with a pulse each year. Will be interesting to see how it plays out if all 3 of those teams are in the championship hunt at the end of next year.

If all 3 make it to New York, it will be the closest vote ever.

Watson has a lot to live up to. It might not be fair, but he could get more demerits for sub-par performances than the other major candidates simply because people expect nothing less than him leading Clemson to an unbeaten season with a NC next year.

I say Watson will win it next year if they make the playoffs again. Fournette won't get enough carries with be rest of the running back depth LSU has

Not when LSU is going to play teams like bama, Florida and ole miss. There will be massive crowds and a ton of tv exposure. It's going to come down to how he can perform
against those teams.

Although I agree that the McCaffery and Watson love is pretty strong right now, I don't think many people expected Mayfield or Henry to be on the ballot let alone for Henry to win it after last season. Fournette will write his own check to New York or not but winning is a matter of what's going on when the vote take place.

Great point on LF splitting carries. Bodes well for the LSU offense because Guice is elite, too. May not be the best for LF's Heisman hopes.

Hopefully it will also be because LSU is able to put somewhere between 2500-3000 through the air.

Fournette had 200+ yards rushing and 4TD's (+1 receiving) in the bowl game. It's better that he doesn't get all the hype early, let the media wear someone else's name out.

I agree with this, and fair or not, I think a lot of people have the sentiment that the voters got it wrong this year with McCaffery's and Watson's bowl performances. Fournette will be too similar to Henry in terms of production/style that there will be an overcorrection.

Didn't have much of a spotlight or national attention when he did it, though. That's where McCaffrey and Watson have an edge going into next season I think.

IDK, guess I should have just started another "BAMA IS THE GREATEST" thread.

Social media and the speed of national exposure shows that the bowl games don't matter. The media had all but decided fournette was the Heisman before the Bama game.

Team wins national championship, still butt hurt about fournette. Why don't you start a thread comparing OBJs season with Julios?

Great counter point if true. Will be interesting to see how that plays out. What if he has another outstanding year? Does he get more hype for producing behind a young line?
