Four teams control their own destiny in the SEC

Three of those teams would make the NCAA playoffs if they win out
One of those four lost to Troy & MS State and would keep the SEC out of the national championship picture for the 1st time in forever
another team has a coach that thinks he controls his own destiny, but doesn't - that team has already lost to the ACC and would need help to keep the SEC in the the playoff picture

If LSU controls their own destiny, how does A&M not?
Both have two losses, one in conference one out ... difference being we already played Alabama and UCLA > Troy

A two loss LSU would make it to the playoffs under your scenario, because they would have beaten Alabama and Georgia on the way there. So I think they'd take a two loss SEC team...

If you win out and Bama wins out, then they have the head to head against you, so you are not in control of your own destiny.

State has 2 losses and alabama has 0. Destiny= controlled

Because you would need Bama to lose twice while winning the rest of your SEC games, whereas LSU would just need to beat everyone remaining including Bama

because you need Bama to lose twice
this thread is focusing on teams that control their own fate insofar as winning the Southeastern Conference
We can talk about the Texas Aggies in other threads
thx for understanding

Depends on the.choices
Even a 1loss Bama isn't jumping:
a 1 loss Notre Dame
a 1 loss ACC Champ
an undefeated USF/UCF
a one loss B1G
a one loss PAC 12
a one loss Big 12
There are plenty of scenarios that keep a one or 2 loss SEC team out

But we all know LSU isn't beating BAMA

Shhh, don't spoil the fun. They do this to themselves every year.

The thread wasn't started by a fan of LSU and no LSU poster has written anything except to explain why A&M doesn't control its own destiny. Pick a better spot to try to be cute.

We all know the Aggies are not gonna beat LSU. We still have to play the game though. STTDB!

Four teams control their own destiny in the SEC
7-0 Alabama goes 13-0 and goes to CFP
7-0 Georgia goes 13-0 and goes to CFP
5-1 Kentucky goes 12-1 and goes to the CFP
Who is the 4th as all the other teams have at least 2 losses?

If LSU wins out. That's the 4th. He is saying our own destiny for the seccg

We only have one conference loss.

If that is the case you must consider any 2 loss SEC team
0 loss = Alabama and Georgia
1 loss = Kentucky
2 loss = South Carolina, Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU, Mississippi State
SC running the table means winning SEC CCG, finishing 11-2
Same for the 2 loss SEC west teams
Anybody who runs the table now from the list (including SEC CCG) is probably getting a CFP spot. The question is then, which remaining 1 loss team get a shot at a 2nd CFP slot?

a 2 loss SEC Champ is not guaranteed a CFP spot this year
not yet anyway
1 loss Miami or Clemson or VA Tech = in
1 loss Notre Dame = in
undefeated UCF/USF = in
1 loss B1G champ is in over 2 loss SEC Champ
even a 1 loss Pac 12 Champ trumps a 2 loss SEC champ; especially if one of those loses is Troy
you need 2 of those off the table to guarantee a 2 loss SEC Champ is in
