He was only 35, diagnosed with angiosarcoma just 3 months ago.

I was in school at the same time as him. He was always a fierce competitor that I always had a lot of respect for.

This news is very sad. Prayers for his family. Cancer is an awful thing.

Last Ole Miss player to get minutes in the NBA. The first Ole Miss basketball game I ever went to I got Justin Reed's autograph before a game. He signed my hat and signed something from a group of kids around me. I was about 11 at the time and thought it was the coolest moment of my life.

Sad to hear. I know there was a big push by OM alumni/community to help him fight it but that disease hit him extremely fast and hard. It sucks to see the good ones go.

any disease, especially cancer, that involves the circulatory system can escalate rapidly.

Awful news when we first heard about this. Reed was one of the first Provine guys to get up out of Jackson. Murrah had produced national talent like Othello Harrington and James Robinson. The whole city pulled for Justin Reed and the Provine Posse.

RIP

Damn. Knew him casually back in school. He was a really nice guy, at least with me. Feel bad for the people close to him .
