Some Q & A with Trotter.

LINK

quote:

But with the way things happened and me getting benched, they knew what I could do and apparently didn't think it was good enough.

quote:

Q: Where would you like to be at this time next year?

A: Hopefully I'll be on an NFL roster, but hopefully I'm playing somewhere.

quote:

I think it'll be a combination of who does well in spring and who they have faith in. You saw last year that we were 5-2 and they benched me. Whoever they start, it'll still be up in the air.

He mad.
quote:

Q: Former Auburn player Antonio Goodwin was convicted of first-degree robbery Friday. Mike Dyer took the stand the day before to detail drug use by teammates. Do think there is a problem in the Auburn locker room?

A: I don't think there's a problem with it. I think any major football team, or any football team anywhere, you'll have guys that are smoking something. The coaches try to recruit guys they feel aren't going to be doing that. Part of that is players policing players to keep them out of trouble and there for the team. I don't think it's a big problem or anything like that. I think it's probably a problem everywhere and something you've got to deal with.

He has a point IMO. The dude had no blocking, and still did okay for the games he started. Then benched him for bitch-boy Moseley. I'd say that he got a raw deal.

and it is not inconceivable for him to make an NFL roster, he aint that bad.

His record was not indicative of how he was playing when he got benched. Yes the line was horrid but so was his decision making. He seemed to lose it after clemson

The handling of all QBs last year at AU was lacking.

I'm guessing you didn't watch the Florida or Arkansas game.

He was 6 for 19 in the Arkansas game for 81 yards and 1 INT.

He almost cost Auburn the USC game if not for Lutz saving one of his INTs. Not to mention he left Blake out to dry on a terrible pass that ended up sidelining him for 3/4 games.

Mosely was unbelievably awful every time I watched them play. They didn't really start getting taken to the woodshed until the back half of the season when their offense became truly putrid. I would probably be pissed if I were him too.

Granted, that's when they played LSU, AU, and UGA.

He had no pass protection. But that is pretty bad for playing against Arky's D.

Yeah, I think Gus deserves some blame on this one. Their offense was a train wreck last year until Trotter showed up in the bowl game.

I always thought he got too much credit for the good and not enough blame for the bad.

He needed to be benched during the UF game... He takes credit for that victory, but I am not sure we win if we do not make the change... He was beat up at that point and gun shy... A decision was made to give Clint his first start in Baton Rouge....Would we have beaten LSU or Alabama with BT? UGA?

Now after he healed, he played VERY well in the bowl game..

Well I figure if Malzahn could do it with Chris Todd why couldn't he do it from Barret Trotter? Amirite?

trotter wasn't that bad in hindsight compared to moseley but we simply had to do something. he was getting rushed and would just loft it up in the air. iirc we benched him after his 2nd or so pick 6 right? of course moselely wasn't any better but we had to try SOMETHING

this. That being said I would have played Trotter until I felt Frazier was ready and never played Mosely.

I am no expert, but I guess that doesn't matter on the SEC rant, but I have been saying since last year, that I don't know why Trotter got benched. I watched every single AU game last year(My close friend is an Au grad and huge fan) I didn't see any reason to put the gunslinger in over Trotter. To me they were the same Qb. I could understand if you just went with Frazier, and said we are going to take our lumps for the future, but that is not what happened. As good as Cam was, he couldn't have worked miracles behind your O-line last year. If Frazier(mocha cam) can get it figured out, I think your team will be very good in 2013.

Kodi Burns and Neil Caudle say that whining doesn't become you, Barrett.
