Ohio State officially announced the hiring of Chris Ash as co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Thursday, rounding out Meyer’s coaching staff for now, according to a press release.
An OSU spokesman said in an email Thursday afternoon Ash is set to earn $520,000 as part of the Buckeyes’ coaching staff.
Ash earned $550,000 this past season at Arkansas, according to the USA TODAY coaches database.

Wow, a pay and position decrease just to get away from Arky, what's going on in Fayetteville?

A simple "your shitty arse defensive services are no longer required" message.

Maybe Bret should not have brought him from Wisky with him, then.

A simple one year bridge DC until someone takes over after January 31st when they couldn't take over earlier due to prior contractual agreements.
Besides, Ohio State is where coaches who can't cut it in the SEC go to lose to Michigan State.

I think he was looking for a quick-fix reputation builder so he can move up the coaching ranks. He was well on his was to a future HC job before this past season. My guess is that he wanted to get out of our rebuilding situation before the stink of it rubbed off on him for good.

why not put on the coaching changes board where it belongs? it could be right there with the other ill-informed thread started by yet another auburn poster on our dc situation.

wow. the hog's prospects must be very dim, if their coaches are already jumping ship, for a pay cut no less.
i wonder who's next...
what a dumpster fire.

I would give up 30k to avoid being responsible for August 30, 2014, as well.

Bielema didn't even try to retain him. Sounding like he won't exactly be missed.

i'm not mad- i have realized for a long time that i simply don't like auburn fans at all. it's not anger, it's more of an every time i see them post.
you on the other hand are just dumb regardless of your team affiliation.
