2. State College

I've been to college station 15 times for work. I can't see in any way how it's a nice college town. It's nice and clean with lots of new buildings and chain restaurants, but that's not what makes a college town.

How Fayetteville and Athens aren't on the list is ridiculous if State College fits the criteria (referring to population).

Oxford is really cool, but I like Fay and Athens much more. All 3 are much better than College Station. CS was a cool place to visit for one weekend and leave, not live for 4 years over
