I makes no sense that Newton would have signed with Auburn for nothing after trying to get $180k out of MSU. Everyone knows this thing is dirty as hell, but it just feels like the NCAA and the SEC want to sweep it under the rug and hope that it all just goes away.

There is the scenario where Cecil Newton had an "oh shite" moment after MSU spurned his advances and went to Auburn legitimately.

I actually think it's likely this is what happened. I however don't believe Cam had no knowledge of his fathers doings and am of the belief that it doesn't matter if he did or not. It's obvious his father was his representative. Heck, he went where his dad asked him to go. He totally lost his amateur status once that occurred. Shame the NCAA is following their own "money trail" on this one.
