Horrible comparison.

In basketball both teams have the opportunity to sub during every stoppage in play.

Football and basketball are two fundamentally different sports. The Down system and specialization of players is what separates it from Soccer and Rugby.

It's not a perfect comparison, but I actually don't think it's a horrible comparison. Thread might be bad but the comparison really isn't.

I've stayed out of most of these threads so I don't know if it's been addressed, but I've always had a question. How would a rule change impact a 2 minute offense? What if there's only 9 seconds left on the clock? Do you not get to run one last play or chuck it in the end zone? You have to sit there and watch the clock run down?

basketball is a continuous sport. Football is a noncontinuous sport where both the offense and defense are supposed to be able to execute a play of their choosing. Also, this rule doors not ban any particular on field play. It's merely trying to rectify a procedural loophole that certain personnel and coaching deficient teams have been exploiting to prevent defenses from getting in a play, in order to mask their inability to line up and beat a set defense. Also, stop making threads. you suck.

No, it is most certainly a shitty comparison.
