Oh yeah. That is the guy that will be running for his life on Sept. 17th and Oct. 8th, right.

What does that have to do with Harris going 13-19 and 202 yards for 2 TDs vs Florida? Nothing
Fact is he was injured and it showed late in the season. He isn't a world beater, but a healthy Harris is good enough to beat a team like UF, clearly.

Obviously Harris will surprise a lot of people this year. It was the kids first year starting and as a sophomore. Pull up all stats from an SEC or any QB in his first year as a freshman or sophomore to compare. I bet he's above to average of those type of qbs. And I'm not talking about the anomalies. Of course you will have one here or there that get lucky or have the right pieces but I bet on average his numbers are just as or better.

They could have given him the Heisman, and he STILL could have been underrated. He's far better than the average Heisman winner.

I never thought he was that bad. I always felt like LF is a little overrated and Harris deserved more credit than he got last year.
This. LF is a good back but has yet to show he can put the team on his back and carry them a la herschel or Bo. He has the tools but against the best competition he wasnt there. Now, a lot of that was missed assignments by the OL, particularly the center being unable to reach onside backers on off tackle plays. Also, against Bama the pulling guards on the trap plays were arriving at the point of attack at the same time bama defenders were which re-routed Fournettes ability to get through the hole and one step to the left or right can slow you down and turn a 9 yd gain into a 2 yd gain.
Harris was forced into passing situations when everyone knew he would pass. Bama and Arkie on passing situations were disguising blitzes brilliantly against LSU last year and I dont care how good you are if you are blitzed on obvious passing downs you are gonna have a lower completion percent or at least be hurried into checking down to guys who are short of the first down and Bama and Arkie were great tackling teams that didnt allow breakaways for first downs like A&M and Auburn. When harris checked down, as he had to, they were tackled immediately.
Against Auburn, A&M, McNeese, whatever or whoever it doesnt matter. you got to be able to have outstanding OL play in the Arkie and Bama games that gives you 2nd and 3 instead of 2nd and 9 then you can give your QB more options and a more comfortable situation.

I think he was talking to the organ grinder

Harris is the 3rd best QB in the SEC

Whoever Bama's QB will be will have a better season than Brandon Harris statistically. Book it.

Do you genuinely feel that an article from the LSU SBNation blog proves that Harris is a good quarterback?

I think it is more about the coach than the player. If miles gets out of the way Harris will shock people

Yes. I think a large majority agree he was good before his sports hernia injury. He gets far too much disrespect. He will improve this year especially if he is injury-free.

The problem with poor Brandon Harris will always have is what a huge number of LSU fans posted when he was named starter 1 1/2,years ago. HUNDREDS of lines, posts, breathless predictions about his limitless future, Heisman potential...on and on and on ad naseum last year.
No player could have lived up to the BS posted for months by people without a clue about how it all worked. Harris was mysteriously promoted to 5-star status, declarations were made he was offered by Alabama an every school in the SEC, that he was the top rated this or that, etc. It quite got completely divorced from reality which is something that seems to happen at LSU more than other schools. Reading last year you would have thought he was Cince Young and anyone who tried to pump the brakes was shouted down, called idiot, etc.
So of course when he proved to be mediocre last year, as is normal for a sophomore not named McCarron or Watson, football knowledgable people remember the BS. So now LSU fans are trolled and reminded about their previous over-the-top hyperbole.
Normally I would recommend a course in realism be taught down here. But everyone would flunk the first exam, and then blame it on the refs. The above brake pumping recommendation applies to a lot of LSU players this year including those 8 (or more) FIRST round NFL picks in the 2017 draft.

Yet another essay by Jacknola that no one will read nor will anyone care about

I read the headline.
I agree. But I don't care to read any more.

Just wait on it, you will be one of the folks who will be very surprised when you see our QB play this year. Brandon Harris doesn't have the right staff to develop him as a QB.

The only other thing we see from OK is a never ending mantra about Harris sucking because he was hurt (poor baby) something that was never mentioned last year. That "injury" must be the reason Harris sucked because if he really sucked OK would suck at identifying football talent at QB...much like the coaches of his favorite team. Surely that can't be true...can if?
Hey OK.... Here is something for you???????????????????????????? Bless your little heart, did you get the message?
