Is it about LSU having a better opportunity to win the West or being able to experience and witness a total meltdown of the Gumps? Where does the "joy" lie in Saban's possible departure?

This. Any LSU fan that takes more than a second of joy in a rival's meltdown needs a better life and to be more self-reflective.

The former. By a long shot. Though the latter will be entertaining.

I'll be happy if he stays personally. I think it keeps Miles on his toes knowing that he has to go through Saban and vice versa really. LSU and to a certain extent ATM have been a thorn in their side.

Since speaking up for other fan bases is becoming a trend these days [looking at you piggidybuzzard ], I will go ahead and answer on LSU fans' behalf.

It's because LSU fans are butthurt, jilted lovers, who are jealous that Alabama gets to win NCs with "their" coach who left them at the alter. If they can't have Nick Saban, NOBODY should get him.

(and I don't hold that against any of them either. I would feel the exact same way and there is absolutely NO shame in it, LSU fans. No disrespect intended here.)

(and before any Gumps start laughing......remember how you felt when Fran left. [I know, I know. That was the biggest backfire in the history of firearms], but y'all were exactly the same way. No shame in that either.)

Yea please let the GOAT football coach continue to win national titles with Louisiana players all the while preventing us from winning.. Let him stay.

Jealous that they win national titles? Hell yea.

But I really don't care that he used to coach for us. I want him gone because he comes in to LA every year and takes 1-2 players we want.. and he is a big reason LSU didn't win national titles in 2011 and 2012.

I will feel the same way about Malzahn or Sumlin or anyone else if they start doing this.

Even if Alabama's program fell, LSU would still have worry about Texas A&M, Auburn, and rising programs like State that will likely end up above them.

The day Saban leaves Alabama will be like the day they find a cure for AIDS.
