Why is everyone cool with putting Notre Dame at 4 and Clemson at 1?

No one has even mentioned it, but this game is just a rematch of a regular season game.

Plus ND wouldn't be a conference champion, so the frick is going on?

Nobody pays attention to matchups until the final poll (and rightfully so)

Sure, but the top 3 is most likely not moving if they win out. I guess the CFP committee could put Alabama number one to avoid this, but that would seem unfair to Clemson.

I believe OSU will be #1 if they win out

It's possible, you have a pretty backloaded schedule, especially if Iowa remains undefeated.

I'd be fine with that. Gives Alabama a chance to whip Clemson.

There's just no point disecting the matchups when the poll has only been out for 2 weeks....Still a lot of football left to be played + conference championships.

Nobody is going to be thinking of the rematch issue until the final ranking. I don't think it's that people are for or against it, it's just too far away to think about.

I do think that ND will get dinged by the committee when everyone else crowns conference champions and they aren't conference champs. ND is definitely hoping the Big 10, ACC, Big 12, and SEC champs have a loss or even two losses.

I do think if the committee looks at it and sees "equal" teams, then they will avoid a rematch. It is an easy switch if the top 3 are the same to switch OSU over Clemson after championship weekend

I'm fine with a rematch, though it's obviously more fun to watch a game versus a different opponent. But I knew we matched up well against LSU, and still feel the same way.

I personally think that should be avoided in the first round of the playoffs.

if Okie lite wins out (probably won't happen).. i don't see any way they could be ranked any lower than 3. they would have beaten highly ranked TCU, Baylor, and Oklahoma in November alone.

Big12 has 2 different teams with a very legitimate shot at the playoffs.

If we get in I want to play clemson and yall play Baylor. I can see Kiffin getting all giddy and abandoning the run game and making the game a shoot out and yall losing at the end Where as if we played BU we would rush for 400 yards and have 45 TOP and take them out their game

At least I can hope
