Scope on pre existing condition. 3 week recovery but I doubt he plays at all in the first 3 weeks of the season.

Earliest he comes back is against Tennessee IMO, just about a month from now.

Tennessee would be ideal. They can live without him until then.

The starting guys will probably be:

RT - Sharpe
RG - Riles
C - Thurman/Dillard
LG - Thurman/Travaris Dorsey
LT - Halter

The next guys off the bench would be
Fred Johnson, Nick Buchanan, and Andrew Mike, based on the little reporting we have. So they really need Ivey back. They have said a lot of good things about Fred Johnson, but Ivey is ready for D1 right now and UF needs him for them to beat anyone with a pulse.

They're hoping 3 weeks on Ivey. Nothing torn, just cleaning some old stuff out.

Jinxed by the earlier thread. That sucks. He'll bounce back.

The same way we did last year. Except with a competent staff.

I feel bad for Martez Ivey, but I feel worse for whoever is going to be QB.

I'm gonna sound like a shite for saying this, but hope he's back for Ole Miss.

I don't feel like a shite for saying that I hope he comes back 100%.

The week after Ole Miss.

Supposedly just a small scope and he'll be back by SEC play, but you never know what they'll find when they open it up.

Admittedly we had an all NFL line last season but I didn't worry too much about the UT pass rush once Driskel was pulled.

UT pass rush doesn't scare me really, UF won't be throwing much.

UT has to stop the run to win.

This hurts, no doubt.

We are probably looking at a week 4 return from injury. My guess is he won't be back to ideal game shape until week 6.

I think he will return for UT but be in the rotation for 2 solid weeks before starting.

Probably a meniscectomy. Out 2-3 weeks at the most if that's what it is.

Ivey had not secured the starters position before the injury, but was definitely making coaches take second look. Ol is just not a position where the kid is dropped off the yellow school bus and reports to Ben Hill Griffin ready to play..he has the physical ability, but the mental part of the game is not a light switch you turn on. He did not sign early as I recall...so he has been on campus a short time.

He would have be able to play snaps in the first two games where the stakes are lower...but he will need the mental prep by the time we line up against SEC foes. We will be better than folks realize on the OL if we dont suffer injuries to starters...we only need to keep qb upright and I feel confident that by the UT game we will have a gameplan to fit our offense. The defense is the one that wins the game.

I dont think any Gator fan wants to see our qb carted off the field because of a blown assignment...be patient.
