The % prosecuted number is skewed. The state of Florida has issues when it comes to prosecuting athletes that are criminals.

Does anyone really care as long as they are winning?

I'd argue that the general populace cares even more than usual if you are winning. The fans of the offending players, though, suddenly stop caring at all.

It's just the damndest little phenomenon.

In their defense, we are talking about Florida so they're probably a little numb to it. When you deal with the fricked up shite they deal with on a daily basis, garden variety possession, assault, etc. probably don't even seem worth prosecuting.
