The last time the Tennessee Volunteers emerged victorious over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

If you would have told me that would be the last win the Vols would get over Alabama in over a decade I would have laughed in your face:

Screw Tennessee, we could beat them 20 more in a row and it wouldn't be enough.

For context, the iPhone didn’t get released until 2007

I remember Simeon Castille running down the sideline about to score on an interception and Ainge knocking him out of bounds.

Our entire section of students (4 rows from the top of the endzone) yelled and screamed and threw our hands in the air because we all knew it meant we wouldn't score a TD.

We didn't.

That turned out to be the play of the game. Had Castille gotten passed Ainge and scored a TD, Alabama wins that game.

Nah, we would have figured out a way to lose that one somehow. It's what we did every year of the Shula era outside of 2005.

But I shouldn't complain, if we win just one of those close games in the 2nd half (Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Auburn) then Shula comes back for 2007. But it sucked wiener driving all those places and watching my senior year be one long kick in the dick.,

I was 6 the last time AU beat LSU in TS. So don't hold your breath waiting for Tennessee to beat them.

A win this year ties series win streak mark.

Indeed it does. Alabama won 11 in a row against Tennessee from 1971-1981.

I've got a hunch that we might tie the series win streak mark.
