Fitz Gonna Eat

quote:

“They didn’t show interest, and that’s OK,” Fitzgerald said. “I wound up at the right place. It’s another game."

“I grew up going to Georgia games. My dad is a Georgia graduate, and I had an uncle who started there. I have a lot of family in Athens.”

What are you Lew, 12? Do it right or don't do it at all.

ETA: Mr Fitz was career military. Don't mess around and get knife-handed and have to watch the game from a hospital bed

Y'all, we live in one of the most talent rich states in the country and have probably more geographic rivals than any team in college football.

Remember Mett for LSU? Dobbs for tennessee? Shaw for South carolina? Every dismissed player that has ended up at Auburn?

This chip on the shoulder thing isn't new. We play Georgia guys on almost every single team we face. Hell, we already faced one senior QB this year that wasn't recruited by UGA. If that's what Fitz needs to beat us then that's fine but he'd better find something else if he wants to beat Bama later in the season

This was an article from the offseason in the Savannah paper. I really don't think he was playing the disrespect card. I think somebody probably said "You are from Georgia and you guys play them this year, did you ever want to go there?" or something like that.

Kid definitely made the right call given his raw abilities and high school resume (I believe he ran the triple option?) to go with Mullen.

There is no way he wishes he had Chaney as a OC when you compare him to Mullen.

This isn't so much a comment on the OP as it is a general response to the caucophany of people already saying "Fitz is gonna have a chip on his shoulder cause UGA spurned him"

Ha yea - that would be dumb. He seems like a smart kid so I'm guessing he knows that.

It's always a good 1st qtr talking point for the broadcasters. Fitz seems like a good kid, hope he can mentally recover from what's about to happen to him.

and Johnathan Abrams which I believe is your starting safety. He wasn't kicked off the team, but I believe he transferred after Pruitt left.

His Dad played HS ball at Jefferson High School, about 20 minutes away from Athens.
