It's a pathetic product on the court and both of our state counterparts are on the upswing with much better coaches. I've never been so ashamed of our program.
It doesn't help that Grant is too much of a weakling to talk to the media and state his case. He doesn't have one anyway.

Im old enough to remember Battle as HC at UTk. He had a great record, but got fired because he couldn't beat UAt. Seems he is still having trouble with UAt

Bill Battle thanks God every day that UT fired him.

Battle beat his former coach Bear Bryant in his first year at UT but went downhill after that (especially after the two years that followed his first and best season). He began the 70s decline most Vols compare to today's slump. Seriously, check out the downward progression:
1970 Tennessee 11–1
1971 Tennessee 10–2
1972 Tennessee 10–2
1973 Tennessee 8–4
1974 Tennessee 7–3–2
1975 Tennessee 7–5
1976 Tennessee 6–5
Afterwards, it took Johnny Majors years to rebuild us and I do mean years and it got worse before it got better. Battle, imo, benefited from prior recruits although he did a lot right on and off the field he just wasn't very good when he got into his own.
Battle's first 3 years were very good but after he was mediocre at best.

tDecline is real. Alabama won back to back football titles. Then Battle was hired and now it's been back to back sugar bowl losses to OU and OSU.
He's a double agent of UT who is poisoning the program from inside. He's still jealous he wasn't hand picked as Bear's successor.

I'm so pissed off! Grant is so pathetic. I've never seen a coach avoid the media like he does. While Bruce Pearl gives Auburn all the exposure he can. I'm writing a nasty letter to Bill Battle as we speak.

Please fire Grant, he is not worth 2 million a year, He cannot recruit and he cannot coach bamas basketball team looks like a high school team, Att Bill Battle do what is right for the university and the fans, We should have fired him and got Bruce Pearl, My congratulations to the AU fans.

Grant is as good a coach as Bama could hope to get. Everyone knows that the focus of Alabama is football, no other men's sports matter to most Bama fans. This is the reason Alabama will not have a top flight overall SEC program. Face it, you are what you are, a football school. This isn't a bad thing as Bama is very good at what matters to their fans, just don't expect top coaches of other Men's sports to run to coach at Bams.
