I just renewed my Sirius Radio after a couple of years off. Thought I would listen to the Finebaum show.

Is the guy always that pompous and rude? That may be his M.O., but I could not believe how dismissive he was of Florida.

I was taught to respect the opponent.

I have never pulled for Florida for anything in my life.

That changes tonight. If there there that little respect in Alabama?

did you just equate Finebaum's stance as an entire state of people's attitude?

He is an uninformed jackass, all he wants is shock value.

He reflects what the typical Bama fan thinks and acts like.

He is a paid shill for the Bama program. Whatever comes out of his mouth is what the Bama athletic department wants coming out of his mouth. The best thing thing is to turn the channel whenever he is on.

No I don't. I don't equate Finebaum's attitude with the whole state or fan base. But, I understand he is a major voice in 'Alabama the beautiful' and I do wonder how representative his voice is?

If he influences people as much as I suspect, then Bama might be in trouble. "Pride comes before the fall."

LSU is the only team (I think this is right) that plays the Tide and Gators every year. LSU fans have learned not to disrespect either.

His lack of respect - to me it went beyond shock value - was really surprising (I had never listened before - only impressions from the SEC rant).

So you tell me -- is his voice speaking for most Bama fans? Or is he the minority?

Shock jocks always speak for the entire state. Howard Stern reflects the opinion of New York 100%.

Fineburn just tries to get people worked up. It's what they all do.

Yep - most of the time

Yep - he does whatever it takes to get people to call the show and raise hell.

He's a journalist and they respect nothing.

He is a Tennessee graduate that has made millions of dollars by exploiting stupid Auburn and Alabama fans. Now he has figured out a way to get the entire nation in on it.

He is actually a pretty bright guy.

He's just like Dandy Don. People take his voice as the word of god.

His views are the same of the Bammers who have never even been to Tuscaloosa.

He is the Fox News of sports talk radio and it works. He feeds off of the polarized "SEC v. the nation" attitude that has infected the country and it has allowed him to go national.

He is a Tennessee grad and anyone who has listened to his show before Saban knows he is not a Bama homer. He trashed Bama before Saban and loved Auburn. Basically, his MO is to hype up the big dog so that it pisses off the inferiority complex of rival teams where they have to listen. The fact we are talking about him on an LSU site proves that.

I've tried explaining that to people so many times. He was the one who broke the Antonio Langham story that got us on probation for the first time. I don't think any Bama homer would have done that.

Chill out brother. I'm as conservative as they get but you are delusional if you don't understand how Fox News unabashedly makes their money. They appeal to a base and convince them that it is "us against the world." Finebaum uses the same type of human emotion to garner interest.

You're never going to win an internet slap fight.

Instead of explaining it you have to post "Dandy Don predicted LSU to get the top 24 players in the nation and number 26 this year. OMG OMG OMG you LSU fanZ are so Stoopid. I can't believe you guyZ think this. Stoopid tig3rZ."

If there is anything that Paul has going for him, it's being informed.

To say he is uninformed is fricking retarded.
