It just makes too much sense to swap Auburn and Missouri, not only geographically but from the standpoint of competitive balance.

It's all about the Alabama-Tennessee game. Nothing else. Nothing. The old timers don't want that game to go away. So because of this, Missouri finds itself in the same division with Florida. It's just stupid, stupid, stupid.

It's time.

Agreed, this permanent cross division opponent needs to die

Unfortunately for the rest of the pee-on SEC programs, Alabama and Tennessee built this shite on our own backs.

So we will and absolutely should continue to get whatever we want.

You're welcome for the relevance the rest of your programs benefit from.

I agree with Auburn being moved to the East but I don't think the permanent cross division rival should go away. They need to expand to 9 games

Funny how nobody wanted to split the east in the 90s when tennessee and Florida dominating. UGA never cried about being in the East.

Move Vandy and Missouri west and Alabama and Auburn east. It solves all problems and allows to continue with a permanent cross division game.
The new cross division games should then be....
Ole Miss vs Georgia
Vanderbilt vs Tennessee
Missouri vs South Carolina
Texas A&M vs Alabama
Arkansas vs Auburn

I don't give a crap about playing UT and I graduated in late 80's. As long as we play AU I don't care.

That's a pretty good idea, actually. I would miss playing Alabama and getting all those trips to Tuscaloosa, but will take the tradeoff of getting to play the Dawgs in Athens. I hope this happens.

Uga
Bama
Florida
Auburn
Tennessee
Florida
South Carolina

In the same division? I'd form my own conference in that case.

I miss the Ole Miss UT game. We've played them more than we have Alabama and Auburn.

AU should have been in the East to begin with, even before Mizzou. We are geographically east of Vanderbilt and our 3 biggest historical rivals left in the SEC after Bama are UGA, Tennessee, and Florida

Besides the Vanderbilt vs Tennessee game (which many Tennessee fans don't even care about) there's really no point in keeping the permanent rivals if this were to happen

If the SEC had went to 9 games like they should have it's a non-issue.

Would you rather have cross divisional rivalry games or a tomato can DI-AA game? Seriously.

Then who the hell would Tennessee beat?
