Don't really see why you'd wait to pull that trigger. Its not like having him on the sidelines helps you in any way against Bama. Maybe they promised him one last game to prove himself to other teams looking to hire a Lyle?

I think it's more or less punishment. It doesn't matter if the ghost of Neyland is coaching Tennessee Saturday, they aren't beating Alabama.

I kind of want Lyle to pull a Billy Gillespie. When Billy G found out he was going to be fired he turned off his cell phone and drove around Lexington for about 7 hours trying to hide. Can't find me, cant fire me!
