Fewest penalties in the SEC, national ranking

Bama seemed to have more penalties this year, especially the stupid ones on Offense that kill drives, than I could remember. They need to correct that or it will cost them another game or two. Surprised AU has had so few. Their plays just weren't working, until that last drive in the 1st half in the Arky game. They may have turned the corner on Offense, which was their big problem. Their Defense has played well enough to win most games. They just got worn out Saturday.

I mean, I want to be proud that Mullen has us #2. But then again 1, 3, and 4 are all teams currently without coaches.

One of the main reasons Auburn is #4 is that their OL is too slow to ever be called for moving before the snap.

Saturday's game, UT had 6 penalties for 30 yards. Bama had 7 for 64 yards. Move the SEC offices!

Not really. IIRC they've got statistically the worst defense in the SEC.
The offense coming to life is what's giving them a good chance at becoming bowl eligible instead of repeating 2012.

In three games since 2009, Tom Ritter has penalized Bama with more yardage than LSU. 132 - 119.

AU's Defense has had to spend too much time on the field because their Offense wasn't moving the ball. They lack depth. If their Offense comes alive, their Defense can likely hold up for 60 minutes. Not great, but decent.
