FEI Rankings

quote:

The Fremeau Efficiency Index (FEI) is a college football rating system based on opponent-adjusted drive efficiency. Preseason projected ratings are a function of five-year program ratings, recent recruiting success, and returning offensive and defensive experience. Win likelihoods for every regular season FBS game based on team ratings are used to produce the projected distribution of season-long results for each team. The remaining columns represent the percent likelihood each team will go undefeated (0L), lose once (1L), lose twice (2L), and so forth against its regular season schedule.

UGA should be around the #20mark, LSU and Aubie switch, and Florida should be #15. Those should be the only ranked SEC teams with bama at 1.

It's a fairly simple statistical ranking. It values OL just like every other part of the team.

I think AU is bringing back most of their defense and offense with stidham coming in. They may not be first in the west but imo they're in a better spot than LSU.

Auburn may not need to move up, but I don't understand why LSU is in the top 10. I don't think that is warranted given the unknowns and the losses on defense. Our schedules suck too, but I don't care for rankings that factor in schedule. Rankings should be where they are now, not where they might be if they lose tough games

I'm not liking the LSU hype either. New head coach, new offense, lost a lot of starters from last year, and a shite schudele. Imo LSU should be around 16.

So you disagree with Vegas as well. Maybe they should have checked with you.

My favorite SEC rivalry. No joke. Arkansas feels elitist towards Mizzou, but Mizzou is a better program and routinely smacks them... and it kills them inside.

Good god...now getting a new offense is a negative? Lol

As for new head coach, not exactly.

They have aranda on D and will still have a very good D. The difference in the team will be on offense, much Les predictable. This is going to be fun.

I'd start us around 16 or so.

I don't believe the Stidham hype. Guy has done nothing to warrant it. Getting tons of yards in garbage duty against the worst defenses in Div 1 is hardly impressive.

Auburn was not a single player from being a Top 10 team last year. A top 10 offense doesn't get held below 20 points 6 times in a season. Take away the run up the score games against their OOC opponents, and it becomes clear they just weren't a good team.

#9 in Total Offense in the SEC vs SEC teams
#7 in Total Defense
#8 in Scoring Offense (over 1/4 of those points in one game, vs Arkansas)
#3 in Scoring Defense (some hope here, at least)

Losing Lawson and Adams will be hard to replace on defense. They return a lot, but those were two of the best, if not THE two best, players on that defense.

Their offense was even worse against ranked opponents. Their OL is unlikely to give Stidham much time, regardless if he's up to the hype or not.

They are not a top 10 team yet. They could easily prove me wrong, but nothing so far indicates that they should be considered that good.
