Faurot Field was constructed and completed after World War I
Fifth Down Game-any true football fan knows what happened during this game if you asked them
North Endzone Curse- Nothing good has ever happened on the North End of Faurot Field
Rock M-most nationlly recognized symbol in any college football stadium
Unique for having games played on both natural and artifical playing surface. (Fieldturf is a better playing surface)
"Nebraska vs Missori The Monsoon"

I went there once when my brother was being recruited. It was 40 in early October with 30 mph winds and the Kansas state team they were playing was even worse than the weather. fricking awful campus in an awful town and the weather matches the schools personality.

Also known around big 12 land as having the shittiest playing surface that is sure to claim multiple knee injuries.

Sorry your brother didn't get an offer

It's the 7th oldest stadium in the SEC. Every stadium outside of Kentucky was built before 1940, most before 1930.

Almost every stadium in the SEC used to have artificial turf and now has natural turf

Don't even know what that is

No matter if he was the back up plan to a back up plan or he was their main priority. MY opinion is that Missouri is a shite school whose hole in the ground stadium doesn't belong in the SEC.

shite stadium is shite. No one outside of Missouri even cares.

My favorite historical moment of Faurot field is when UGA won be 3 touchdowns in your first SEC game.

My favorite was wrapping up the East between the hedges in week 7 of 2013 season

Uhhhh, nearly every stadium in this country was built after WW1
Tradition?
Tradition of getting your shite pushed in by Nebraska, OU, and Colorado?

I would assume my opinion is the same as any other person that went to the crater that you call a stadium.

You guys play in a high school Harry stadium. There are stadiums at Texas high schools with more tradition.

Don't forget back in 1938 Mizzou flooded Faurot Field (it was built in a former quarry) to stage a mock Roman Legion sea battle using ships built by the engineering students. 27 three quarter sized ships were built and participated in the battle. Jiddu Aurubindi, an Indian engineering student and one of Mizzou first celebrated "people of color", nearly died in the sea battle when his ship caught on fire after a collision. He narrowly escaped death by burning after he used a replica ax to break thru an interior room he was trapped in, but still received 3rd degree burns over more than half his body. The mock battle was halted to drag his body out of the water, and resumed once he was escorted out of the stadium to the campus clinic.
My grandfather witnessed that battle. He was in high school at the time. His parents drove 2 hours from northeast Missouri to Columbia to specifically watch the event solely because he wanted to go to Mizzou for engineering.
Two years later he enlisted as a Marine and spent 2 years fighting in the South Pacific, most notably Guadalcanal.
After the war he returned to Mizzou and eventually received two degrees, one in math and one in nuclear physics.
He returned to northeast Missouri to take control of his mother and father's farm which he eventually expanded to a 1,500 farming operation still in existence today (run by my uncle and appreciated most by my grandfather).
I love Missouri history.

Most schools in the SEC have intramural fields with more history and tradition than that dump.
