Facts and a Question for you....

Les Miles and Mark Richt are on the hot seat....
Greyson Lambert and Brandon Harris at QB..( before this season, 1 SEC Start)
Their best players are sophomores (Chubb out for half the season)
Offensively:
LSU starts 1 senior and 3 juniors (none of which are going pro early)
Georgia starts 3 seniors and 2 juniors (none of which are going pro early)
Defensively:
LSU starts 4 seniors and 2 juniors ( maybe one leaves early)
Georgia starts 4 seniors and 3 juniors (2 of seniors backups are virtually starters)
Both of these coaches have proven that when their program takes a track downward they can redirect the ship (Miles 2009 team to playing for National Championship 2 years later) (Richt 2010 team playing for SEC and virtually the national title 2 years later)
Why would you fire these guys who have LONG ESTABLISHED THEMSELVES as winners in the business for the the likes of bringing in a mid major winner, Butch Jones rah rah type guy? Last unproven head coach to win big and consistent in the SEC was???
I'd probably go back to 2006 and Urban Meyer...so once a decade....

It's a gamble for sure. It might pay off, it might blow up in their faces. It should be fun to watch.

Les Miles hired Kevin Steele.
If Les isn't fired, we better get the best DC money can buy and Les needs to completely re-think his offensive philosophy.
The wheels have come off of this team. We aren't just losing, our team isn't showing up. There is a huge difference.
Not true.
That's actually a lot of upperclassmen and experience on one side of the ball. Not sure what your point is there.

I would argue that both of those coaches accomplished a lot during their first 5 years, peaked, and haven't been close since (outside of Richt's 2012 season)
Richt
2009 - 8-5, 4-4 (Indy Bowl)
2010 - 6-7, 3-5 (Liberty Bowl)
2011 - 10-4, 7-1 (lost to only 4 good teams played) (Outback Bowl)
2012 - 12-2, 7-1 (very good team, tons of talent)
2013 - 8-5, 5-3
2014 - 10-3, 6-2
2015 - 9-3, 5-3 (lost to only 3 decent teams on schedule)
Outside of 2012 Richt has been incredibly mediocre since 2009. And, on top of that, Richt has played in a piss poor division since Meyer left in 2009 and has almost nothing to show for it.
Miles
2012 - 10-3, 6-2 (Peach Bowl)
2013 - 10-3, 5-3 (Outback)
2014 - 8-5, 4-4 (Music City)
2015 - 7-3, 4-3 (TaxSlayer/Liberty/Belk)

I wouldn't say he was unproven at that point.
It's always a gamble, you just have to decide if the gamble is worth it. You pretty much know what you are getting with those guys now.

And I think both UGA and LSU could hire a guy who has at least proven for multiple years that he can win. Does that mean they will do it at UGA/LSU? No, but they aren't going to have to hire some assistant or a guy who has coached for 1 season. Those are attractive jobs to coaches.

The thing is the players really did play hard Saturday, they were done in by predictable playcalling and a shitty defensive scheme. I don't feel like any of them have checked out, it's the coaches who have stopped trying. That's why a change needs to be made.

It's all about timing and who is available. I don't think you let guys like Les or Richt go without a plan right now.

UGA 2013 I would say was on track to be as good as any team Richt had. And they still won 8 games with all those injuries. If not for that year, I'd say thats another SEC East Champ and potentially a SEC or Natty

Seems like a lot of UGA fans are ready to cut Richt loose, and accept whatever happens.
I firmly believe that unless we have a couple candidates who have proven themselves and we can be reasonably confident will, at the worse, keep our program at the same level...do not pull the trigger.
Personally, Fuente is the only guy I would want to replace Richt. We aren't going to take an established coach from a major program (Swinney, Dantonio, etc). If we aren't sure that we can get him, keep Richt and keep that continuity. The worst case is making a change just for the sake of change, and then having to repeat the effort several times over the next 15 years.

I don't think either program will have a problem replacing those guys with another good coach. Both schools have been very loyal to those guys.

I mean, it is all up to you guys and what your expectations/fear of failure are.
Personally, I'd be ready to move on from Richt. But I'm not a Georgia fan.
