These rules prevent schools from handing out FAA like candy in order to have unlimited contact with any recruit they choose.

There has to be rules in place to prevent this from happening.

The only way to enforce those rules is to enforce them with consistency across the board. That sucks for LSU, and it's something that certainly needs to be amended for situations such as this... But don't blame Saban, Bama, the REC, or the SEC office for LSU's mistake.

The rules were in place. LSU knew the rules. LSU knew Womack wasn't solid, and they chose to have that unlimited contact anyway.

Well that's really not a fair depiction, because no recruit would sign one unless they are committed to that school. Its not like lsu made it rain with FAA's.

The kid has to sign it. Meaning it's the kids choice not the school.

It's basically a waiver that says I will allow this school to have unlimited contact with me.

Not necessarily. A recruit can sign multiple FAAs. Though it would be dumb for multiple schools to let the same recruit sign them. But if a recruit is manipulative enough, it can happen.

LSU should not have reported it and then they could have acted dumbfounded about how it all went down. Whatever? The sanctions are really meaningless and if that's worth the SEC home office and the NCAA's attention than so be it. Once again it's silly, and bigger issues continue to get swept under the rug. Every Power 5 school has recruiting issues in most sports due to the NCAA's outdated rules. LSU self reporting looks a lot better than ignoring it.

Four? Does anyone else have sanctions coming soon?

That makes no sense, but I'll take your word for it.

That wouldn't have gone well. Punishment would probably be worse if that happened.

Yep, and I would imagine it wouldn't be hard to convince them to sign it.

"This just lets us contact you as much as we want."

Without the rules in place, schools could use that to have that unlimited contact with whatever recruits they wanted.

Just because he signed 4 doesn't mean the schools chose to have unlimited contact with him.

I'm guessing he saw it as insurance. In case he was injured his senior year, he'd still have a scholarship somewhere. One or two schools might screw you, but probably not four.

It was actually only 3. My bad...

Signed them with Alabama, Florida State and Ole Miss.

Right... the schools can choose whether or not to use that unlimited contact.

LSU chose to use it with Womack. Why, I'm not sure - since he was obviously not solid.

If CJ signed four than shouldn't the other schools be reporting the same infraction

I have more of a problem with the kid gloating about it than anything else, gives the impression of a setup.
