Expressing condolences for an injured player.

Why is it always so sappy? I've seen people today who say they're praying for Jonathan Williams and his family. Please.
A football player got hurt playing football. It's not that shocking, or tragic. It's a part of the game.
If people want to feel sad about something, they should be sad that a kid got injured playing for a program that basically gives him nothing in return. He pours all of his time and energy into playing for a program that exploits these players to make money.
I'm not sad that Jonathan Williams got injured. I'm sad that he now has to undergo major surgery to fix an injury he got playing for free.
And don't give me that bullshite about how these players receive a college education in return for their sacrifice. None of the schools in the SEC except for Vanderbilt offer an education worth a shite.

Eh, disagree w/ the "they get nothing in return".
When JWill has a son that is of mediocre talent and skill he'll get a gift scholarship like Scotty Thurman's kid.
Somewhere they'll be a cush job for him in NWA waiting on him.
As long as he doesn't frick everything up he's pretty well set if football doesn't work out, but he's gonna get a few NFL checks.

Couldn't be further from the truth. I said in the OP I feel bad for Jonathan Williams. I don't feel bad that he hurt his foot playing football because that's a risk you take when you decide to suit up.
I also don't feel bad for people who speed on icy roads and then crash their car.
