So far, all the deaths have been in conditioning drills.

So far.

LINK

quote:

The symptoms of sickling are fatigue, difficulty breathing, lower extremity weakness, cramping or spasms. If the athlete, coach, and the athletic trainer are educated to recognize the symptoms, the athlete can be withdrawn from the exercise and be allowed the opportunity to recover without likelihood of any harm.

However, if the athlete continues to be pushed through these symptoms, the restricted blood flow will result in a breakdown in skeletal muscle, called rhabdomyolysis. This releases toxins into the bloodstream that can affect the kidneys and heart. If the rhabdomyolysis is explosive, the toxins can stop the heart even before the kidneys fail, causing death in an hour or less.

If the rhabdomyolysis isn't explosive, there can still be kidney failure, an increase in the level of potassium in the blood, followed by cardiac arrhythmia and ultimately death.

What if you son had sickle cell?

I'd claim that the proposed HUNH rule is a reasonable modification for a disability as required by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title II of the ADA.

Trying way too hard.

The Hurry up could be 'fixed' by making substitutions more difficult to do.

That way the incentive to 'catch' a defense mid sub isn't there anymore.

When do these deaths occur?

NM I just saw in the article where all 20 deaths happened during conditioning drills or pre season practices. Non attributed to a game time situation.

What if he was an asthmatic with sickle cell? And had a baby seal as pet? And rescued puppies? The HUNH must be stopped!

During the time proven when more injuries occur and have life long affects on the players. This is also the time that a certain team claims to do it harder and more difficult than any other team.

This isn't just about Bama. This is about ending sickle cell discrimination.

Hell yes. Bama is quite benevolent. Give sholarships to players who can't even play football anymore. We're really the saints of college football in so many ways.

It's well-known that Arkansas is the consensus tBeacon of the NCAA football world, but Alabama is definitely our right-hand man when it comes to insisting on a high standard of ethics and integrity in college football.
