Which teams do you think will surprise and which teams do you think will disappoint this season? You can post teams on a national scale if you want to.
Surprise:
Oregon - too many people think they will drop off. I doubt it happens.
USCw - loads of elite talent and could win the Pac 12
Arizona State - upset the first week of the season and people will take notice.
Minnesota - could win the B1G West and continue their climb of becoming a better program.
Arkansas - win 10 games this season.
Kentucky - if there is an SEC team that will "ruin" other teams season within the SEC conference season, Kentucky is my pick.
Disappoint
Texas - another season where they struggle to win games.
Texas A&M - Chavis will disappoint.
Auburn - will lose 3 regular season games.
Virginia Tech - they are going to star the season with some buzz simply due to having so much of their roster back, but they will continue to struggle.
South Carolina - Steve retires after another 6 or 7 win season.
Stanford - will struggle to win 8 games.
UCLA - I think they could end up having poor QB play.

Where are those universities located? Lamar Central State Southeast, Texas that is on Texas A&M's schedule or something?

Some real hard-hitting analysis. You put a lot of work into this.

This has been UK's long term method of operations for ages.

Surprise:
Alabama - offense doesn't skip a beat
Texas - wins 10 games
Florida State - playoff bound
Minnesota - wins Big 10
Vanderbilt - whole team vastly improved
Notre Dame - playoff bound
Florida - offense is better than its defense
LSU - defense is still good, offense is good (sorry everyone)
Tennessee - wins the east
Virginia - upsets multiple teams
Disappointment:
Oregon - decline
USC - defense takes a huge step back
Clemson - Clemsons
Missouri - last in the east
Texas A&M - offensive philosophy change = less points, defense doesn't have the athletes
Auburn - defense isn't any better
Ohio State - falls on their face hard
Arkansas - 7-5 record
Michigan - still sucks hard
Michigan State - overall meh

You somehow managed to post over a dozen points I disagree with. Like I agree with zero percent of your post.
Honestly I'm just impressed.

You might actually be wrong about every single one of those! Good job!

Subtle as a brick.

I think Nebraska is going to surprise everyone and only win like 6 games this year.

Oregon has a lot to live up to in order to be a surprise. I would only be surprised if we dominated the entire schedule and pimp slapped LSU in the ncg...only because LSU would be there of course.

This is a pretty big swing and a miss, but I don't blame people for making it based on how bad out defense has been.
We have talent and a lot of speed on defense. The recruit rankings should easily reflect that over the last 3-4 years and Sumlin's comments about the defensive speed over the years do as well. Clearly we all think Chavis is superior to Synder and we've finally built up some type of depth that we didn't have the last 3 years.
The biggest surprise is when A&M;s defense goes from one of the worst in the national to middle of the pack SEC. Pair that with our offense (will be better too) and you have the formula to win 10 games before the bowl.

Every indication is that their defense will be VASTLY improved from last year...
How can it be worse that where it was last year (92nd in Total D)? You can't really step back much farther.

The back end of the defense will be great. The problem for SC is the depth up front and they don't have Leonard. I doubt they are vastly better.
