So far the stats are as followed:

Etling: 22/31 398 yards 1 TD
Fitzgerald: 28/47 360 yards 5 TD

Clearly LSU has a better rushing attack with Guice and clearly Fitzgerald can scramble and also air it out very well. I think this game is going to come down to field position and which team is better executing in the red zone. I think LSU has a couple more deep threats than Miss St is expecting but it should be a really close game. GL STATE

I know it's early but through 2 games etling is throwing about 70% with nearly 400 yards. The reason his TD count is relatively low is because the deep balls he's thrown LSU has found themselves inside the 10 which ends up in a Guice TD or FG. Flip a couple of those into TDs and he's at around 3. I think Etling is proving to be a way more efficient QB this season than people are giving him credit for.

Fun fact: Etling had more rushing yards than Fitzgerald in last years game.

If you add imaginary touchdowns to Fitzgerald's count he also has more.

If you add up only actual touchdowns from last year, Fitzgerald had 37 and Etling had 12

I was thinking the same thing. If he didn't have those 3 rushing TDs they'd probably have ended up as passing TDs so there's 8. I figure that field goal we missed against Charlestown southern we should have gone for and thrown to the Endzone. That gives him at least 9 in theory.

Both are tough as nails. That's the commonality.

It's pretty simple. All of Fitz's big games have come against inferior defenses. Until he has even a decent game against a good defense, I have to say this one's a loss. I don't see him bucking the trend against this defense.

I'll still be in the stands hoping like hell I'm wrong.

Clearly you are misinformed.

MSU is ahead of LSU in rushing. 3 top 15 rushers in the SEC will do that for you.

It's too bad they will be around middle to bottom by the end of the year

Currently MSU has about 300 yards total rushing where as LSU has around 260. Guice has 4 TDS and MSU's main back.... whatever his name is has 1 TD. That's a 3 TD difference, the same difference between Etling and Fitzgerald. I think LSU has the better rushing attack because of their ability to rush in the red zone and get TDS when teams are loading up the box trying to get a big stop. MSU hasn't shown me that but have shown their ability to pass in those situations instead. LSU's DB's are going to be tested this week. Should be good. It seems like you're the one lacking solid information though.

We have a good shot, we have good talent, but acting like we have a better running back than Guice is not ridiculous its stupid.

This is 100% how I feel. All trolling aside, he has to prove himself in a big way this weekend. And that is a tough defense to do it against. But we'll see.
