They are not even about sports anymore.

"New York is the melting pot of college football." SAY WHAT?

quote:

On Sept. 23, College GameDay will air live from Times Square in New York City for the first time ever, as announced by ESPN on Thursday.

“New York City is a melting pot of college football fans and the heartbeat of America,” ESPN vice president of production Lee Fitting said in a press release. “Thousands of alumni gather in the city each fall Saturday to root on their school and we are bringing College GameDay to New York for them. We want every alumni base and college football fan near and far to join us in Times Square to provide the celebratory, festive atmosphere that is synonymous with the show.”

I mean, that's not entirely wrong. Imagine how many fans of different teams are in New York

Yeah you left out a key word. Didn't say it was the melting pot of CFB. Said that it was the melting pot of CFB Fans.

That has to be the weekend there are 0 good games, there's usually one weekend a season where there are no ranked match ups at all.

Regardless, it's a stupid idea.

Got a good friend that lives in NYC that graduated from Bama. He's in the alumni association there and they have watch parties and stuff. Seems like a good time.

Not a terrible idea, imo. The NYC bar scene is actually pretty cool on college football Saturdays.

I'm okay with it. Not many good games on at all. I thought Penn State @ Iowa would get it.

Which is total bullshite.

New York is a pro town. You have more college football fans in Scratch Ankle, Alabama (yes, it's a real place) than you do in New York City.

There must be a political angle. Gonna speak out about soda pop sizes or global warming affects on Time Square.
Pathetic.

New York is an everything town.

On Saturdays in the fall, every school has a different associated bar/bars where their fans gather together to watch their team's game. It's pretty fun.

Doubtful. You act like everyone living in New York is from New York.

Plenty of grads from plenty of schools across the country end up in New York

There are over 8 million people in the city itself and you're arguing that some backwoods town in Alabama has more CFB fans lmao good grief

Typical faux outrage. You'd fit in well at CNN.
