Missouri hasn't made the seismic assistant hires of fellow SEC members Auburn (Will Muschamp), Alabama (Lane Kiffin) and LSU (Ed Orgeron).

Well when you allow one team to rush for over 400+ yards in the SEC title game one year, and then get blown out by 29 points the next, you tend to start getting overlooked.

Overlooked more than teams that didn't even make it to the game. That's the point.

In a game that often is the other way around, Pinkel is substance over style. It's not flashy, but it works and it fits our state very well.

Pinkel has built a very solid program at Missouri. A lot of that is because his coaching staff is so stable they've had plenty of time to build up recruiting relationships with high school coaches and they can let recruits know exactly what to expect from them.

Mizzou has benefitted from the being in garbage divisions dating back to their BIG12 days. Beat one of the top 2-3 teams in the conference (overall) more than once a decade, and you'll get some respect.

There are three teams in the SEC East that the national writers give two flying damns about.

The rest of us are on the outside looking in, no matter how good you/we may be. This is the downside of a conference with "tradition."

Mizzou has reached the point where so many people say they are underrated that they are now actually overrated.

I love it! An article that disses A&M and Mizzou. Easily the best article this offseason.

The SEC has already been very very good to Mizzou ... and will continue to be.

Mizzou, on the other hand, has taken advantage of the opportunity in football and appears to be turning it around in baseball.

Mizzou definitely brings something to the conference ... not basketball though, which is sort of ironic.

We're just giving others a chance to shine a little.....we'll be back with our .525 winning % so look out.

It always seems like mid season before a Mizzou game is on TV.
